The Horizon Helps team would like to extend a special congratulations to Hugh Campbell, age 87, who broke a state record for his age group at today's Inaugural Cherry Blossom 5K!

Here's a sneak peak of the almost-finished design of the back of the DE Marathon volunteer shirts! The Horizon Helps team will be providing water to all participants of the race as well as over 500 tee shirts to volunteers!

Be careful not to over pre-rinse your dirty dishes before loading your dishwasher. Doing so can waste water and energy and if no food remains for the detergent to attack, it can leave your glassware cloudy!

The Horizon Helps team will be on-site this Saturday as the primary water sponsor for the Inaugural Cherry Blossom 5K in Wilmington, Delaware. The event benefits the restoration and preservation of the Wilmington State Parks!

Many ceiling fans are equipped with a switch that reverses the direction of the fan’s blades. A counterclockwise rotation will produce a cool breeze while a clockwise rotation will help recirculate warm air that has pooled near the ceiling back into your living space. Making proper use of your ceiling fan during winter months can cut your heating costs as much as 10%!

If you suffer from allergies consider using electrostatic furnace filters. They may be more expensive than pleated or woven fiberglass filters but they also capture smaller particles and need less changing.

A fireplace is a great way to reduce heating costs in the winter, but remember to close the flue and glass doors when not in use to prevent the escape of heat.
